Her school, set in the distant future, was established by the government to ensure the success of the next generation of Japanese citizens. This cutthroat school is based on a merit-based system, and Class D gets the lower ranked students so the others can poke fun at them for their mistakes.

Despite his average grades and being in the “dump class,” Ayanokoji is actually incredibly intelligent, but doesn’t aspire to be top of the class. This secret intelligence has a traumatic past with many mysteries yet to be revealed. After becoming involved with two of his classmates, Ayanokoji’s view of the school and his classmates begins to change.

The manga adaptation has not yet been released in English as of this writing, but is available for pre-order via the websites listed previously with a release date of March 1, 2022. The digital version costs $9.99 while the physical version costs $13.99 while volume 2 will be available on May 10, 2022. The second year light novels will be released later this year starting July 19, 2022.
