United Way of Mid Coast Maine ends its annual campaign on November 20th. The money raised will help thousands of Midcoast residents meet their basic needs, be safe and healthy, and give children a good start in life, according to a United Way statement.

The goal of the campaign is $ 1.65 million

United Way is also running its workplace campaigns differently this year during the COVID-19 pandemic. Since it was unable to hold the usual workplace events and rallies, United Way launched a new online donation platform and customized landing pages for some of its workplace partners. This makes it possible to continue to reach employee donors via videos and online meetings.

“With so many people struggling to make ends meet, we really need everyone who is able to support this campaign for our community,” said Barb McCue, who runs the campaign with husband Bob McCue directs. “The lives and well-being of more than 20,000 local people, supported by 37 United Way-funded local organizations, depend on what each of us do now. Now, more than ever, we need to come together to help our neighbors. Please give in today as we enter the final weeks of the campaign. “

“Our United Way introduced new strategies and technology during this pandemic to make it easier for people to give,” said Bob McCue. “We encourage people, for example, to donate securely and quickly directly on their phone using United Way’s new text-to-give option.”

Donations can be made immediately by SMS to DONATE2UW at 41444 or at uwmcm.org/donate.

Donations can be sent to United Way, 34 Wing Farm Parkway, Bath ME, 04530.
