Every year dozens of huge and luxurious cruise ships visit Cornwall.
Not only do they boost the local economy, but they also provide a great spectacle for local residents when they arrive at the ports of Falmouth or Fowey.
The largest luxury liners will carry between 1,000 and 2,500 passengers.

Due to the Covid pandemic, no cruise ships took passengers to Cornwall between 15 March 2020 and 26 May 2021 when the brand new Viking Venus was the first in around 15 months. You can read about it here.
Here’s everything you need to know about the cruise ships to see in Falmouth and Fowey this year.

The cruise ships visiting Cornwall this year
The 745ft liner will visit Falmouth twice, on April 12th and October 1st.
The ship, along with its 930 passengers, has bars, shops, restaurants, two cinemas, a theater, an indoor pool and an outdoor pool, two hot tubs, a spa, a sports deck and a fitness center on board.
AIDAaura and her 1,300 passengers will be in Falmouth three times.
It will first arrive on April 26th and then return on September 13th and 25th.
Amera will be in Falmouth on May 4th and 17th.
The Silver Whisper will be in Falmouth three times next year. The 25,635 ton ship will first arrive on May 4th before returning on June 13th and 18th.
The ship will feature boutiques, a show lounge, card room, casino, bar, library, salon and fitness center and is expected to accommodate 466 guests.
Silver Moon and her 691 passengers will be in Falmouth on May 19th.
Mrs Volendam will be in Falmouth twice. It will arrive first on June 2nd and then on August 18th.
It will carry 1,718 passengers.
Viking Mars and its 930 passengers will be in Falmouth twice. It will first arrive on June 4th and then be back on October 4th.
The island princess will be in Falmouth twice. Initially, it will anchor in the bay on June 12th. It will then return on August 13th. It stays there between 8am and 4pm.
Both times 2,657 passengers are transported.
Mrs Europe 2
The Europa has a maximum capacity of 516 passengers. It will be in Falmouth on June 28th.
The Amadea, 633 feet by 82 feet, will enter port on August 28 and September 28.
There are a number of boutiques selling everything from perfumes to clothing and sweets to souvenirs. It even has an onboard golf course.
The cruise ship is also home to two restaurants, an outdoor pool, hot tubs, a jogging track, fitness center, spa, sauna, and even an “Ice Temple.”
The ship is expected to have around 624 passengers on board.
Spirit of Adventure will be in Falmouth on September 8th. It will carry 1,000 passengers.
Seabourn Cruises’ Seabourn Ovation will fly to Falmouth on September 19th.
The massive 200m long ship features an array of restaurants including a sushi bar, bars, coffee bar, grand saloon, shops, meeting rooms, card rooms, casino, pools, hot tubs, spa, saloon and fitness center .
The ship is expected to have 638 passengers.
The Viking Venus will call at Falmouth on October 14th. She will carry 930 passengers.
The Europa will be in Fowey on 22nd June and 25th August.
