Somnio: A 728-foot yacht liner with 39 bespoke luxury residences for the rich

As the world’s leading shipyards and marine architects try to outdo each other, we see some of the most outrageous proposals in the maritime industry. The gigantic sizes of commercial types like cargo, passenger, and cruise ships are nothing new. However, two respected yacht design firms are teaming up for something great. See the splendid Somnio!

Designed by creatives from Winch Design and Tillberg Design, this platform will redefine luxury living. We call it that because the somnio is more than just another ridiculous display of wealth. Sure there are people out there who can hire the best in the business to build one, but this is the marketing of a unique and flamboyant lifestyle.

Why stop at luxury residences on solid ground when you can have one at sea too? According to the team, a 728-foot ship will set sail from any port to any point in the world on this project. Meanwhile, the on-board elite can choose from 39 upscale apartments of varying degrees of opulence to suit their needs.

But even if some of our wealthy friends want to reserve a spot, that’s no guarantee they’ll get in. You see, the people behind the project are planning to run a selection process to determine which of the prospects are likely to live in harmony on board the Somnio.

Those lucky enough to have access to amenities that can easily rival their counterparts on land. The aptly referred to as a “yacht liner” is in a class of its own. Local residents and their guests can enjoy a variety of restaurants, a beach club / marina, a wine cellar with up to 10,000 bottles, and much more. Work on the Somnio will start in early 2022.
