Michael Arthur Dunlap died from this earth on August 18, 2022 at the age of 72. He was a lover of people, sailing and cars. He received his BS in Engineering from Western Michigan University followed by an MBA from the University of Michigan. He developed an expertise in commercial office seating and has been employed as well as self-employed in the automotive and commercial seating industries.
Mike was an avid and knowledgeable sailor. His interest in sailing led to membership of the Anchorage Marina and Yacht Club where he served on the board. He has also been a member of several community groups including The West Michigan Sustainable Business Forum and a board member of the Holland Arts Council.
Mike is survived by a brother, Peter Dunlap (Mary Margaret), a sister, Ellen Angell Dunlap (Christian Schad, deceased), a special friend, Connie Vander Velde, a niece, Laura Bogardus, and two nephews, Mark Dunlap (Marta) and Benjamin Dunlap (Jennifer). He was predeceased by his parents Arthur and Doris Dunlap; little sister, Patricia; and brother-in-law Christian Schad.
