IRCTC in Tenterhooks after Cordelia under NCB radar

In September, Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) took bookings for cruise ships to help boost tourism. The railroad had teamed up with the Cordelia cruise line. A day later, however, the NCB raided the shipping company and hit a drug extortionist involving several celebrities; the IRCTC is closely monitoring the investigation.

On Sunday, IRCTC officials said, “IRCTC is not involved in the incident. We are just a ticketing and marketing agency for which we receive commissions. However, we are keeping an eye on the investigation and are in contact with NCB officials, ”said a senior IRCTC official.

Officials said their chartered cruise for about 20 passengers was scheduled for Kerala in late December. The IRCTC officials said that although bookings were made through their website, responsibility rests with the passenger.

Last month the IRCTC signed an agreement with Cordelia Cruises, led by M / s Waterways Leisure Tourism Pvt. is operated. Ltd to promote and market the first indigenous luxury cruise in India. They launched the first cruise line from Mumbai on September 18.

Since the announcement, the IRCTC has received requests to book tickets for this cruise line. The cruise ship has a capacity of 2,000 passengers. Some of the destinations are Goa, Diu, Lakshadweep, Kochi and Sri Lanka. The international tour will not start until mid-2022, depending on the Covid 19 situation. Inside the cruise there are restaurants, swimming pool, bar, open cinema, theater, children’s playground, gym and much more.
