After a 17-year hiatus, Gauri Khan made a comeback on Karan Johar’s talk show Koffee with Karan. Gauri graced the couch with her two friends, Maheep Kapoor and Bhavna Pandey.
Episode 12 of Season 7 was full of banter, secrets and big revelations as mamas from Bollywood’s Gen Z clan opened up about their famous kids, famous spouses and more.
This was the second appearance on the show of Gaur, wife of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, and the debut of Bhavana Pandey, wife of actor Chunky Pandey and mother of actor Ananya Pandey, and Maheep Kapoor, wife of actor Sanjay Kapoor.
Between all the fun chats, Johar also spoke to Gauri, who runs a successful interior design business, about how her personal life has been going, particularly after her son Aryan Khan’s arrest last year in a high-profile drug case.
Calling herself godfather to Shah Rukh and Gauri’s three children, Karan asked Gauri how difficult it was for her as a mother and her family to cope with a situation where her son was wrongly arrested in a drug case.
In response, Gauri said: “I think nothing can be worse than what we’ve just been through, obviously as a mother, as parents. But today as we stand as a family I can say that we are in a great place where we feel loved by everyone. And all our friends and so many people we didn’t know. So many messages and so much love and I just feel blessed. And I would say I’m grateful to all the people who helped us with that.”
Aryan made headlines after he was arrested by the NCB during a raid on a luxury cruise party off the coast of Mumbai on October 3 last year. He was charged with using and dealing in illegal substances. Aryan spent a month in jail and was eventually released on bail. After months of investigation, he received a clean slip from the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) earlier this year.
