The Forbes list of Best Diversity Employers was determined through an independent survey of over 60,000 US workers at companies with at least 1,000 employees in their US operations. Respondents were asked to anonymously provide their opinions on a range of statements related to age, gender, race, disability, LGBTQIA+ and general diversity in their current workplace.

Respondents from minority groups also had the opportunity to rate other employers in their respective industries that stand out positively or negatively when it comes to diversity. Based on these direct and indirect employee recommendations and an assessment of corporate diversity among top executives and the board of directors, and indicators of diversity engagement, Forbes recognized only the top 500 companies from thousands of organizations, representing the top 2% of all US companies with over 1,000 employees.
